Bubblegum Canada is looking for a contracted coordinator to grow with us as we take on new clients across the sustainability, education, consumer product, trades shows + events and luxury goods industries, to name only a few.

What does success in this role look like? 

It will be measured by the candidate’s problem-solving skills, self-motivation, ability to work as part of a team, desire to build strong relationships as well as take initiative, and the quality of writing/work they produce. 

APPLICATION DEADLINE: Immediate 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Work with and report directly to the Founding Partners to complete tasks, ensure PR plans stay on track, and achieve desired success

  • Generate press coverage for Bubblegum clients, as assigned

  • Write, edit and circulate press releases, pitches, media kits, editorial and other communications materials

  • Build relationships with media/influencers on behalf of Bubblegum 

  • Provide assistance with the scheduling, organization and execution of events

  • Monitor and manage all social media initiatives for Bubblegum and its clients

  • Create content and update the Bubblegum blog as scheduled

  • Monitor and track all media mentions for Bubblegum clients, clip and file accordingly

  • Prepare accurate, thorough and timely publicity reports and post-mortem reports for internal and external audiences

  • Available to work evenings and weekends when necessary

  • Ongoing monitoring and organization of contact database

  • Administer the highest level of quality in all work

  • Performing some administrative duties


SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 1-2 years experience working in public relations

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred in communications, journalism or a public relations-related discipline

  • Agency experience a must (boutique or corporate)

  • Knowledge of the media/social media landscape throughout Canada

  • Experience in media relations with  proven understanding and successes 

  • Capable of demonstrating strong diplomatic and critical listening skills as well as superior analytical and reasoning skills

  • Superior verbal and written communications skills with the ability to articulate in a clear, concise and compelling manner

  • Extremely organized with the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment with very tight deadlines

  • Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously

  • Instinct for interpersonal relationships and relationship building

  • Proactive self-starter with the ability to provide prompt follow-through on projects

  • Ability to accept specific direction, with an outstanding work ethic

  • A natural problem solver

  • Solid knowledge of Microsoft Office, Cision and other media monitoring and tracking programs (i.e. Meltwater, MR2P, Infomart) 

  • Proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite, Hootsuite, as well as all social media platforms

  • Bilingual English/French an asset

  • Job Types: Contract 

 Salary: Based on experience.
